When you open your Outlook Calendar, you will see a 'New Teams Meeting' button right on the home tab of your Calendar banner which is displayed at the top of the screen automatically. Clicking that button will automatically turn the meeting that you are scheduling into a Microsoft Teams meeting. This adds a meeting link for other users to join and a conference phone number.
If you see that a coworker is available, you can use Teams to chat with them, call them, and share your screen without requiring a Teams meeting to be scheduled.
Teams and Channels provide your organization with a space for a group of people who need to work closely together to collaborate in the open with each other on different projects/jobs. This includes files, conversations, notes, and meetings. This is one of the best ways to get away from lengthy email chains with too many people included.
Teams are typically created/categorized by project or by department.
Channels are created within these Teams for your collaborators to have organized conversations and share content relating to specific tasks, topics, or even tasks by department.
Both Teams and Channels can be created to be private (certain members only) or public (anyone in the organization can see).
